Movie News: DTV Treatment for Burning Bright

Delayed for months, Lionsgate shoved Burning Bright on the back-burner, but continued with the intention of giving it a theatrical release. Sadly, the film - boasting a rather surreal plot - has been thrown on the DTV shelf, having a US DVD release date of August 17th.

Briana Evigan (Sorority Row, Step up 2) stars as a girl trapped in her house with her autistic little brother (Charlie Tahan) during a hurricane, unaware of the ravenous tiger roaming the hallways.

A rather ambitious plot, but you have to credit writing-duo Christine Coyle Johnson and Julie Prendiville Roux for attempting something original.

Bloody Disgusting exclaims, "..incredibly tense and suspenseful sequences that had me gasping for air!"

The thriller is directed by Carlos Brooks and co-stars Garret Dillahunt (The Last House on the Left) and Meat Loaf.
